Hey buds. Something has been turning in my mind, the last few weeks, and I thought I’d go ahead and put it out here for us all to think on!
The core of the idea is “SQUEAKY WHEEL”.
What does that make you think of? Does it come with positive connotations? What feelings, ideas, or memories does it bring up for you?
I’ve been thinking about how people usually talk about a “squeaky wheel’ person as someone who talks too much, needs too much, is a bother. Is this similar or different to your experience?
So, let’s look at this more neutrally. There is something, in this case a person (the wheel, which seems to imply an important part of a bigger whole or situation) and it squeaks. Squeaks… that means it’s expressing something, telling something.
So, let’s get curious!
No? We are going to call the wheel some culturally appropriate term, with socially appropriate derision, and hope it stops. Right!?
No? That doesn’t sound right, does it.
So, how do we apply this? You’re now challenged to notice the squeaky wheels in your life. What’s been giving you signals, telling you it’s time to begin to prepare, repair, or change something. Maybe it’s something about a person or relationship in your life, maybe it’s something in the way you’ve been doing or not doing something, or maybe it’s something on your to do list. Like a squeaky brake or tire.
So, then I ask, what am I going to do about it? Why do I want to ignore it? How will I support myself in a way that makes this get done asap?
Just some “fine Tuesday morning” thoughts. I wanted to share with you because I’m curious what you think. Talk to you soon!
